LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The New Mexico volleyball team fell to UNLV in three games (30-27, 30-20, 30-23) Saturday night (Oct. 11) at Cox Pavilion. The Lobos now stand at 3-15 (0-5 Mountain West) for the season, while the Rebels improve to 8-8 (2-3 MWC).
Senior Anna Reines (Big Lake, Minn.) led the Lobos with 11 kills. Junior Adah Burke (Las Cruces, N.M.) had 12 digs, junior Monica Meihack (Fallon, Nev.) tallied 22 assists and sophomore Chelsea Sondrup (Lindon, Utah) registered six blocks.
Leiana Oswald led the Rebels with 16 kills. She just missed a double-double with nine digs.
Fellow Rebel Michelle Banks tallied a career-high 11 kills. She also had six digs and one block assist.
New Mexico returns to action with two home matches next weekend. UNM hosts Colorado State Friday, Oct. 17 and Wyoming Saturday, Oct. 18. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. at Johnson Arena.
