COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.- Junior Becca Barras was named MWC Diver of the Week for the second time this season after an impressive showing at the Air Force Diving Invitational last weekend. This is Barras' ninth career honor.
Barras (Kitchener, Ontario) swept the competiton on both days of the invite with three first-place finishes. In the 3-meter prelims, she scored a personal-best 513.65, then came back to score 498.00 in the finals to secure the win. The next day she completed her sweep by scoring 275.10 on the 1-meter and 347.10 on the platform. The Lobo diver currently holds the MWC's top score in the 1-meter and 3-meter dive.
Barras along with teammate Tracey Berghian are set to compete in the NCAA Diving Zones March 11-13 in Oklahoma City, Okla. after qualifying for the competition earlier this season.
The New Mexico diving team returns to action when they travel with the Lobo swim team to the Mountain West Conference Championships Feb. 18-21 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
