ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico women's soccer team took to the field this evening in an intrasquad scrimmage. Head Coach Kit Vela used the scrimmage to evaluate her team's fitness level at this point in camp and to help mold a starting 11 for the upcoming season.
"It was nice to see all the new faces in action," said Vela. "We found that we are a fit team and right now we are looking to figure out who fits with who out there. We played a lot of players out there today and we now we need to clean up the details.
The Cherry-Silver intrasquad will take place this Sunday, Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. The Lobos' first home match will be Aug. 21 against Idaho State at 7 p.m. For more information please visit www.GoLobos.com.
