Lobos Move into First after Two Rounds at Nelson Invitational

STANFORD, CALIF. - The University of New Mexico men's golf team moved into first place after the second round of The Nelson Invitational in Stanford, Calif. The Lobos shot a 7-under par 266 and is now 6-under on the 6,444 yard par 69 Stanford Golf Course. UNM has a one-stroke lead over UNLV going to tomorrow's final round.

Individually, Spencer Levin continues to lead the tournament. Levin shot his second round of 65 and is now 8-under par for the tournament. Levin's lead going into the final day is four strokes over Steve Tiley of Georgia State.

Joining Levin in the top-10 is senior Jay Reynolds who is tied for third at 3-under par (68-67). Other Lobo results are Charlie Beljan is tied for 19th at 141(71-70), Miguel Griego is tied for 25th at 142 (73-69) and Jay Choi is tied for 33rd at 143 (75-68).

The Nelson Invitational continues tomorrow with the final 18-holes of play with tee times beginning at 9:00 a.m. (MST).
