ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- Camping season for the kids is here, Lobo football style.

The University of New Mexico football program has announced its dates for the 2012 summer camps. New head coach Bob Davie and his staff will conduct four individual camps designed to provide instruction in the basic fundamentals of the game.

The Lobos will host two separate one-day mini-camps on June 9 and July 21. Each camp, for kids entering ninth through 12th grade, will take place from 12:30-5 p.m. The cost for each camp is $20 per individual, and each player in attendance will receive a T-shirt and dinner, along with instruction.

The Youth Camp, designed for kids entering second-eighth grade, will take place June 11-12. The June 11 session runs from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and the June 12 session goes from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The cost is $100 per child, but those who register in groups of 10 or more will be eligible for a discounted rate of $75. Each participant will receive a T-shirt.

A 7-on-7 and Offensive Line/Defensive Line Camp will be from June 15-16 for kids entering ninth-12th grade. The first-day session is from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and the second-day session runs from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The cost is $100, but groups of 10 or more will be eligible for the $75 rate per athlete. Each player will receive a T-shirt, and lunch will be provided both days.

All campers should bring workout gear and sunscreen. The camps are non-padded, non-contact, skills-teaching sessions. No overnight accommodations. To register, go to www.golobos.com, scroll over the “Sports” tab and click on “Football.”

Camp brochures also are available on the Football home page; move down the page to the scroll underneath the “Schedule & Results” section or look under the “Quick Links” to the right of “Schedule & Results.” For more information or specific questions about any of the camps, please call 505-925-5700.

Don’t miss out on giving your kids the opportunity to meet Coach Davie and his staff and receive the same quality of coaching that the Lobo football team receives.
