ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Four University of New Mexico football players were named to Athlon Sports' preseason All-Mountain West first team, the magazine announced Wednesday.
The four selections were the third most for any team in the conference.
Senior inside linebacker Dallas Bollema earned third-team All-MW preseason accolades.
Carrier was a second-team All-MW selection in 2012 after posting a school record 1,469 rushing yards that included a 338-yard effort against Air Force on Oct. 20.
Bratton has started all 25 games during his Lobo career. He was UNM's starting center in 2011 and moved over to left guard last season.
Skaer ranked 17th in the nation in punting last season, averaging 43.85 yards per attempt. The Lobos also ranked first in the Mountain West in net punting with an average of 39.0 yards per attempt. He earned honorable mention All-MW honors in '12.
Clayton was fifth in the country in kick return average in 2012 with a 30.4-yard average per return. He had a pair of 98-yard kickoff returns for touchdowns - in the season opener against Southern and in week three against Texas Tech. He was an honorable mention All-MW honoree.
Bollema led UNM with 89 tackles and tied for the team lead with three interceptions last season. He needs 63 tackles to break into the school's top 20 in career tackles. Bollema earned All-MW honorable mention honors.
