ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - New Mexico volleyball head coach Kelley McKee has announced the promotion of Chelsea Robb to first assistant coach. Robb, who will also serve as the recruiting coordinator, begins her third season with the Lobo volleyball program this fall after spending two years as the second assistant.
"We are very excited and fortunate to have Chelsea in this program," said McKee. "With all of her hard work the last two years, she has definitely earned this position. She has taken the initiative since she's got here in improving all aspects of our administrative and conditioning efforts. She's earned the respect of our team, and I know she'll do an excellent job as our recruiting coordinator."
Robb, a Northern Arizona alumnus, arrived at UNM after spending 2002-03 as the head coach for Flagstaff's High Altitude club team. Prior to her stint as a club coach, Robb was a standout with the Lumberjack volleyball program.
At NAU, Robb was a three-time honorable mention Big Sky All-Conference member. In 1999, under then NAU head coach Kelley McKee, Robb was named the Big Sky's Freshman of the Year. Robb was a member of the 1999 and 2000 conference championship teams, and led the Lumberjacks to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 1999.
Robb, who received a degree in Health Promotion at NAU, was a member of the Dean's List three years and was named a Golden Eagle Scholar Athlete. She will earn her master's degree in Sports Administration this December.
