LUBBOCK, Texas - The New Mexico softball team (16-9) dropped the final game of the Mutual of Omaha Lady Raider Classic, 4-1 to Texas Tech.
The Raiders built a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Rhyne singled through the left side to score Natalie Enderlin. Moulin followed with a fielder's choice that allowed Sigala to score.
Texas Tech added two more runs, one from Kula's single in the fourth that scored Oakes. Sigala also singled to right in the sixth, allowing A Parker to score.
Suffering the loss for the Lobos was freshman Irene Weik. Weik pitched 3.1 innings, allowed five hits, three earned runs, one walk and struck out two. Senior Amy Dumas threw 2.2 innings of relief, giving up five hits, one earned run and one walk. Erin Crawford got the win for the Raiders, hurling a complete game for seven hits, one earned run, one walk and striking out four.
New Mexico enters the Oklahoma/Worth Tournament in Norman, Okla., March 12-14.
