NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale Bulldogs, coached by former Lobo Alex Dorato, downed the No. 58 New Mexico men's tennis team (4-2) 5-2 in the first match of its three-match east coast road trip.

New Mexico swept all three singles matches to earn the doubles point. The No. 46 tandem of juniors Ryan Stotland and David Kowalski dropped Andrew Rosenfeld and Rowan Reynolds, 8-3 at No. 1 doubles. Senior Divan Coetzee and freshman Hiroud Akhavan edged out Ryan Murphy and Brandon Wai at No. 2, 9-8. Completing the sweep, senior Jasmin Hodzic and sophomore Henry Gers netted the 8-3 win over Chris Lawler and Neil Tolaney.

Earning the Lobos sole singles point was No. 29 Coetzee competing at No. 1. Coetzee beat Murphy 6-2, 6-3.

The Lobos next stop is No. 16 Harvard. The Crimson and New Mexico face off at 6 p.m. EST.
