Aug. 20, 2010
In less than 72 hours, school will be in session. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like their summer ran just a tad bit too short? Either way, the summer is over and it is time to begin a new semester now that our brains have rested, and a new season now that our bodies have been pumping that iron!
All of my teammates are moving back to Albuquerque and are just as excited as I am to begin this new year. We have high expectations, like we do every year, so we're ready to work hard in this pre-season to meet those expectations. This will be an exciting season with a vamped up schedule, face-lifted Pit, and - how can I not mention this - one last year to beat those Utah Utes!
If you are looking forward to the 2010-2011 season as much as I am, make sure to purchase your season tickets. They're available right now here on GoLobos.com. We want as many of you as possible at every one of our games. Everyone knows that the Lobos have the best fans in college basketball. We can't wait for you guys to prove it again this season.
It has been a fun summer writing this blog. It gave me a great opportunity to get to know some of my teammates better. I also got accustomed to the life of a journalist - glued to the computer screen. I truly do hope you enjoyed reading From the U throughout the summer.
Please note - this is not `goodbye,' it's `see you later.' Even though this weekly summer blog has come to an end, don't fret. If the good people here at media relations will have me, I will be posting updates this fall as well.
Let the countdown to the Howl begin!
