Lee De Leon is in his third year at the University of New Mexico as the Associate Athletic Director for Development and Executive Director of the Lobo Club. De Leon oversees the Athletics Department's development office, the Lobo Club, which raises money for all of the University's athletic teams, programs and student-athletes.
Before coming to New Mexico, De Leon served as the University of Arizona's Assistant Athletic Director for Annual Giving & Major Gifts from 2008 to 2011. During his three years with the Wildcats, he oversaw the annual giving and marketing efforts for the Wildcat Club, the fundraising arm for Arizona Athletics. He also identified and secured major gifts for the Wildcats and was a part of the Athletic Director's senior staff.
Prior to Arizona, De Leon spent three years at the University of Houston, first as the Assistant Director of Marketing before being promoted to Director of Marketing from 2006-08. While at Houston, he oversaw the marketing efforts for the entire Athletics Department and worked specifically with football and men's basketball. He also served as the athletic department's liaison with the university's band, dance, and cheer programs and served on the Athletic Director's senior staff.
Additionally, De Leon is a graduate of the 2012 NCAA Leadership Institute, was the Chairman of the 2008 Conference USA Marketing Directors, and was a 2004 recipient of the NCAA's Ethnic Minority Enhancement Scholarship. He is also an active member of the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD) and was a featured speaker at the 2012 NAADD Convention in Dallas. For the 2013-14 season, he is serving as the Mountain West Conference Representative for NAADD.
De Leon earned his B.B.A. degree in Marketing from the University of Notre Dame in 2004, and his master's in Sport Management from Texas A&M University in 2005. He currently resides in Albuquerque with his wife Lacey and his son Landon.
