Anya played number 1 singles and doubles last year and became our MVP. She lead the team with the best singles record (10 singles wins) and played against the best player of every team we played. She is poised now to make her mark this her senior year.


2009-2010: Junior Season
Went 5-16 in dual play and 10-27 overall in singles...3-27 overall in doubles and 2-18 in dual play going 3-16 with partner Ashley Bonner...5-2 during dual play when she won the first set...spent the season at the No. 1 singles spot after being in and out of the lineup the previous season

2008-09: Sophomore Season
Posted a 7-13 record in singles...all wins in the spring came in two sets...12-20 record in doubles teaming up most often with Ashley Bonner...duo won five of their last six matches.

2007-08: Went 1-1 in doubles with partner Maria Sotirchos at the No. 3 spot...earned the Academic All-MWC Conference, MWC Scholar-Athlete Award and ITA Scholar Athlete awards.

HIGH SCHOOL: Joins the Lobos for the Spring 2008 season... graduated from Tec de Monterrey High School in Mexico City, Mexico.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Carlos Villanueva and Ana Virginia Forte... has one older sister, Karla and an older brother, Roberto... favorite food is chiles en nogada... favorite athlete is Andy Roddick... plans to major in Journalism.
