Lobos vs. New Mexico State

Lobos fall to Aggies, 13-8

JUNIOR (2012): Started 16 games for the Lobos and posted an 8-5 record ... led the team with 111.2 innings pitched and all qualifying pitchers with a 2.74 ERA ... was second on the team with 91 strikeouts ... hurled three complete games, including two shutouts ... named a first team All-Mountain West performer and was named to the All-MW Tournament team ... won all four starts in April, pitching 32.1 innings and allowing only seven runs while striking out 27 ... did not allow a single earned run in five different starts ... finished the season on a 17.1 scoreless innings streak ... struck out a season-high 10 in a complete game shutout of Air Force on Apr. 5 ... earned the Lobos' only win in the NCAA regional by pitching seven shutout innings against San Diego on Jun. 1 ... allowed only two home runs all season ... allowed three or fewer earned runs in 12 of his 16 starts ... earned two MW Pitcher of the Week Awards, one on Mar. 19 and one on Apr. 10 ... drafted in the 14th round, No. 439 overall, of the MLB draft by the Oakland A's.

SOPHOMORE (2011): Appeared in 20 games for the Lobos, including three starts, and posted a 1-2 record with a 5.90 ERA ... pitched 39.2 total innings ... started the championship game in the MWC Tournament against TCU and earned his only win of the season ... struck out a season-high nine batters and allowed only two runs (one earned) on eight hits (none for extra bases) and four walks in seven innings ... in four appearances against TCU throughout the season, he only allowed four earned runs in 10.2 innings while striking out 15 ... did not walk a single batter in last four relief appearances, spanning seven innings.

FRESHMAN (2010): Made 17 appearances in his freshman campaign ... posted a 1-1 record with an 8.71 ERA as a reliever ... struck out 26 batters over a total of 20.2 innings pitched on the year.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Stan McKeever ... won a state championship in 2008 ... named first team all-state, first team all-district and first team all-metro in 2009 ... a 25th round draft pick of the Boston Red Sox.
