Rising pole vaulter who is entering just his sixth year of competition in the event...didn't pick up his first pole until his junior year of high school (2005) and took a year off from track and field before joining the UNM program last year...has a trio of top-five MWC Championship finishes in his first three years and is all-MWC in one of the nation's most competitive vaulting conferences...has two years of eligibility left...two-time Academic All-MWC honoree.

2010: (outdoor)Top pole vaulter at New Mexico scoring at the MWC Championships in the event with a career best mark of 17-4.50...set a pervious personal best two weeks before at the Don Kirby Invitational with a mark of 16-7.25 taking first...qualified for NCAA Regionals in Austin, Texas ranking No. 23 in the nation...

2009: (outdoor) No height in the season-opener at Arizona State before taking the rest of the spring off...Academic All-MWC and MWC Scholar-Athlete Award winner...(indoor) Led the team and ranked seventh in the MWC with a lifetime best of 16-04.25 at the New Mexico Classic (Feb. 7)...went on to finish fifth at the MWC Championships (16-02.00)...cleared 16 feet in three of his six competitions.

2008: (outdoor) Ranked 2nd on the team (7th MWC) behind All-American and MWC champion Robert Caldwell with a top mark of 16-00.75, recorded in late March at UTEP and again in mid-May at the MWC Championships...5th at the MWC meet in Fort Worth - one of 4 top-5 finishes on the season...vaulted 7 times...Academic All-MWC...(indoor) Ranked 3rd on the team (T-10th MWC) with a top jump of 15-07.00 at Northern Arizona...went on to finish tied for 8th at the MWC Championships (15-01.00)...competed 5 times.


A 2006 graduate of Rio Rancho (N.M.) High School...5A state pole vault champion as a senior after placing 4th as a junior in his first year of vaulting...also captured the district title in the event in '06...helped the Rams capture district championships in '05 and '06...set the school record with a vault of 14-07.00...Rio Rancho Jumper of the Year for head coach Larry Chavez...also an all district selection on the football field.
