The Lobos played host to some of the premier institutions across the nation at the Don Kirby Invite, Feb. 10, 2012.
The Lobos start to 2012 year by travelling to the NAU Open and hosting the Cherry & Silver and the New Mexico Invite.
2012 Indoor: Competed at six meets, all in the sprints...Smashed the school record in the 60 at the Don Kirby Eilte Invitational placing fifth with a 6.69* time...Opened the season with a seventh-place showing in the 200 at the NAU Lumberjack Open, finishing in 22.42*...Won the 60 at the New Mexico Invitational with a 6.83* time after tallying runner-up honors in the 200 with a time of 21.93*...Took sixth in the 60 at the New Mexico Classic...At the Mountain West Championships, claimed second place in both the 60 (6.80*) and 200 (21.57*).
2012 Outdoor: Ran at eight meets in the 100 and the 200...Placed top-ten in the 100 at four regular-season meets, including the UTEP Springtime Invitational (8th, 10.66*), the Don Kirby Tailwind (5th, 10.59*), the Beach Invitational (8th, 10.49) and the Texas Tech Red Raider Open (5th, 10.58*)...Ran in the 200 at the Beach Invitational and Brutus Hamilton Open, placing ninth (21.09) and second (21.83), respectively...Won the 200 at the MW Championships with a 21.16* time (breaking a six-year streak of TCU championships in the event), while also claiming second in the 100 with a 10.55* time...Qualified to the quarterfinals of the 100 at the First Round of the NCAA Championships with a stellar time of 10.26, a personal best...Advanced to the NCAA Championships and placed 20th overall in the 100 with a 10.28 time...Also competed in the 200 at the First Round of the NCAAs.
