Talented, experienced runner who has led UNM in the 3,000m steeplechase the past two years, becoming the first Lobo to qualify for regionals in the event last spring...ranks eighth on the Lobos' all-time performers list in the event (altitude adjusted 9:03.56)...active competitor throughout his career, appearing in 16 cross country and 30 track races in his career...redshirted the 2006 outdoor and 2009 indoor track seasons, as well as the `09 cross country season...was also an accomplished Nordic skier as a prep in his hometown of Leadville, Colo., which sits 10,000 feet above sea level...outstanding in the classroom as well (Architecture major)...6-time Academic All-MWC honoree and 3-time MWC Scholar-Athlete Award winner.
2010: (Outdoor)Top men's steeplechase runner...scored at the MWC Championships taking the bronze with a season-best time of 9:04.17...qualified for the NCAA Regionals in Austin, Texas ranking 45th in the west region..competed in the 1500-meter (6th at Don Kirby with career best time of 3:53.67) and the 5,000-meters (23rd at the Stanford Invitational with a career best time of 14:35.34)

2008-09: (outdoor) Breakthrough season, becoming the first Lobo ever to qualify for the NCAA Regional championships in the 3,000m steeplechase...clocked a career-best (altitude adjusted) time of 9:03.56 and scored for the first time with a sixth place finish on May 15 at the MWC Championships...meet was held at the highest stadium in the country in Laramie, Wyo...time was the fastest by a Lobo since 1988 and ranked 8th on the UNM all-time list...went on to finish 18th in his Midwest Regional debut (16-seed) with a time of 9:22.58...raced 10 times in 7 meet appearances, competing at every distance from 400m hurdles to 5,000m...career-best 5K time of 14:46.11 at Cal...won the steeplechase at home at the Don Kirby Invite...Academic All-MWC and MWC Scholar-Athlete award winner...(indoor) Redshirt season...(cross country) Scored once in 5 meet appearances...was the team's No. 7 runner and placed 47th (31:14.2) at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships...36th at the MWC Championships (team's No. 8)...was the Lobos' No. 3 man (182nd overall) at the Pre-Nationals meet...Academic All-MWC.
2007-08: (outdoor) Led the team (13th MWC) in the 3,000 steeplechase in his debut outdoor season...recorded a top time of 9:29.87 in a 9th place finish at the MWC Championships...No. 4 on the team (17th MWC) in the 5,000m with a career-best 15:00.90 at home in the Don Kirby Invite...16th in the 5K at the MWC Championships...8 races with a season-high 4th place finish in the 5,000 at Cal...Academic All-MWC and MWC Scholar-Athlete award winner... (indoor) Raced 4 times...No. 3 on the team in the 5,000 with a career-best time of 15:17.18 (altitude adjusted) at the MWC Championships (10th)... (cross country) Appeared in five meets, scoring twice and running with the Lobos' top-7 four times...top finish of 10th at the NMSU Kachina Classic...recorded a season-best 8K time of 26:17 at Stanford...was the team's No. 7 runner at the MWC Championships (43rd overall)...Academic All-MWC and MWC Scholar Athlete Award winner.
A 2006 graduate of Lake County High School in Leadville, Colo...two-time conference champion and placed fourth at the state meet as a senior...lettered all four years in cross country, track and Nordic skiing...qualified for the 2006 Nordic Skiing Junior Olympics...active in jazz, concert and pep band and salutatorian of his senior class...graduated with a 4.02 GPA.
