NEW MEXICO:10,000m All-American last spring who was the Lobos' top long distance runner in 2009..MWC silver medalist in the 10K and broke her own indoor school record holder in the 5,000 last winter (MWC bronze medalist)...ranks third on the school's all-time outdoor performers list in the 10,000 (34:12.31) and 5,000 (16:29.26)...has full indoor/outdoor track seasons of eligiblity remaining after wrapping up her cross country career in 2008...transferred to UNM from Mississippi State in the fall of 2008...four-time Academic All-MWC honoree.
2010: (outdoor)Recorded the second best time on the team in the 10,000-meters with a time of 34.38.16 at the Mt. Sac Relays...ran a season best time of 16:38.98 in the 5,000-meters at the Stanford Invitational...finished 15th at the MWC in the 5K with a time of 18:55.81
(indoor) Led the team (2nd MWC/44th NCAA) and broke her own school record with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 16:34.58 in the 5,000 (Feb. 14 at Washington)...later earned all-conference honors in the event with a third place finish at the MWC Championships...third on the team in the 3K with an altitude adjusted 9:46.71 in a fourth place finish at the MWC meet...four meet appearances.
(cross country) Scored in all 6 races, led the team twice and had 3 top-15 finishes...matched the highest finish by a Lobo at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships, placing 5th with a career-best time of 20:44.8 to earn all-region honors...ran second on the team (85th overall, 21:06.3) at the NCAA Championships to help UNM finish 18th...rolled an ankle one mile into the MWC Championships race, but rallied to finish 11th (22:00) and earn 2nd team all-conference honors...picked up the decisive point as the final scorer for the Lobos...sprinted down the final straight to edge BYU's Cecily Lemmon by less than a second and give UNM the 31-33 victory in the closest championship meet in MWC history...earned MWC Athlete of the Week recognition after leading the Lobos with an 8th place finish at Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational...team captain and Academic All-MWC honoree.
(indoor) Raced just twice before an illness ended her first track season, but led the team in the 5,000 and 3,000...broke a 15-year-old school record in the 5,000 with a time of 17:05.19 (3rd MWC) at Washington...clocked a time of 9:45.26 (6th MWC) in the 3K at Notre Dame...Academic All-MWC honoree and MWC Scholar-Athlete Award winner.
(cross country) First team all-MWC honoree who led the team in all 5 races in her debut season at UNM...4 top-30 finishes, including a pair of top-5 efforts...fifth (21:35) at the MWC Championships - just 15 seconds behind the winner...27th (21:48) at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships...clocked a season-best 6K time of 21:05 in a 26th place finish at Oregon...was the top collegian (2nd overall) in her Lobo debut and first race at altitude, leading UNM to its first Lobo Invitational title...Academic All-MWC.
MISSISSIPPI STATE:Competed in track and cross country at Mississippi State from 2005-07.
(outdoor/indoor) SEC finalist in the 10,000 meters, finishing 6th...set the school record in the 10K at the Mt. SAC Relays with a time of 35:30.43...also owned the Bulldogs' top 5,000 (17:18.85) time of the year, which she recorded in a third place finish at the Texas Relays...won the 10K at the Alabama Relays...competed in the 3,000 and 5,000 indoors.
(cross country) Scored in all 6 meets and earned her first collegiate victory in the season-opener (Sewanee Invite)...8th at Alabama.
(indoor) Finished second in the 3000-meter run at the Clemson Invitational (10:09.07).
(cross country) Finished 26th at the SEC Championships...2nd at the MSU Short Course...posted sixth place finishes at the Belmont Opener and Crimson Classic.
HIGH SCHOOL:A 2005 graduate of Pulaski (Wisc.) High School outside of Green Bay...lettered in track and cross country four years...two-time state champion in the 3200-meter run (2004 & 2005)...finished 3rd in the 1,600 as a junior and 2nd as a senior...2004 WCCCA Female Runner of the Year... won the state cross country title to lead the team to a runner-up finish in 2004...4th individually in 2003...member of the Leo Club and National Honor Society.
PERSONAL:Born in Green Bay, Wisc...full name is Michelle Lynn Corrigan...daughter of Elizabeth Corrigan...has three brothers (Sean, Tim, Brian) and a sister, Lisa...majoring in Economics.
