THIS SEASON: Had a strong showing in his first year with the Lobos, playing in all but two of UNM's 13 varsity events...started his collegiate career at Central Missouri State but transferred to UNM prior to the 2006-07 season...excellent student with nearly a 4.0 grade-point-average...recipient of the Bruce and Sandy Seligman Men's Golf Scholarship.

2007-08 (JUNIOR): Second on the team with 33 rounds played and a 74.00 stroke average...led the team with six rounds of 70 or lower and tied for the lead with five top-30 finishes...best showing was a tie for fifth at the Windon Memorial with a 3-under 210 (70-69-71)...won the High Country Shootout with the JV squad with a 17-under 199 (66-63-70)...Academic All-MWC and MWC Scholar Athlete...honored at the Lobo Academic Banquet for having over a 3.2 grade-point-average.

2006-07 (REDSHIRT): Redshirtted the 2006-07 season after transferring from Central Missouri State...advanced to match-play at the U.S. Amateur.

CENTRAL MISSOURI STATE: Played two years...selected all-conference in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association in 2004 and 2005.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2004 graduate of St. Cloud Tech...all-conference selection for four years in the Central Lakes Conference...won the 2004 individual regional championship in Minnesota...graduated high school with high honors.

PERSONAL: Born May 27, 1986, in St. Cloud, Minnesota...son of Ray and Kathy Sauer...has two brothers, Joe and Justin and a sister, Erin...father was first golfer inducted into the Bemidji State Athletic Hall of Fame...majoring in Finance.
