NEW MEXICO: Coming off a strong off 2012 season in which he played all but two games as a true freshman ... a vital piece of the Lobos' running attack that finished fifth in the country with an average of 301.3 yards per game ... a gifted runner with a strong feel for the option game ... must take all of his 2012 experiences and use it as a springboard to improvement ... main focus will be on improvement in the passing game ... earned Academic All-Mountain West honors in the fall of 2012 ... a highly-decorated high school quarterback coming out of Cleveland High School who enrolled at New Mexico in January of 2012 to participate in spring practice ... emerged as the No. 2 QB behind senior B.R. Holbrook during 2012 spring workouts.

2012 (TRUE FRESHMAN): A significant contributor to the UNM offense in its two-quarterback rotation ... played in 11 games with four starts near the end of the season ... broke the school record for rushing by a freshman quarterback with 760 rushing yards ... scored seven TDs and had a 7.0-yard rushing average ... rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries against Nevada on Nov. 17 ... had a career game against Wyoming on Nov. 10, setting new career highs in completions, attempts, passing yards,, passing touchdowns, rushing yards, and rushing attempts ... finished the contest against the Cowboys with 155 passing yards and 149 rushing yards to become the first Lobo to have more than 100 yards passing and rushing in the same game since Kole McKamey pulled off that feat against BYU in 2005 ... the 149 rushing yards were the most by a Lobo QB since McKamey had 152 against New Mexico State in 2005 ... threw the first touchdown of his career to tight end Andrew Aho with 12:46 remaining in the second quarter ... his second TD pass came on a career-long throw of 52 yards to Ty Kirk with 10:04 remaining in the third quarter ... started his first career game against Fresno State on Oct. 27 and rushed for 50 yards on just three carries ... had a long rush of 41 yards against the Bulldogs but left the game in the first quarter with a neck injury ... had a career-long 76-yard touchdown run in the third quarter against Hawaii on Oct. 13 and finished with 104 yards on only five carries ... carried the ball seven times for 79 yards against Texas State on Oct. 6, including one run for 53 yards ... rushed for 71 yards and two TDs against No. 24 Boise State on Sept. 29 ... led the Lobos on four touchdown drives in the second half against the Broncos, including a 96-yard drive ... it was the second time this season he scored two touchdowns in one game ... also rushed for a two-point conversion against Boise, bringing the Lobos within three points midway through the fourth quarter ... made his first career appearance for the Lobos against Southern ... carried the ball eight times for 88 yards and two TDs ... scored the first TD of his career on a 7-yard run with 8:24 left in the second quarter ... completed the first pass of his career to true freshman tight end Chris Edling with just less than two minutes left in the third quarter.
