New Mexico hosted Colorado State in the season opener, won by the Rams 14-10.

NEW MEXICO:Capped his Lobo career with a solid senior season, finishing tied for ninth with teammate Dallas Bollema in the Mountain West with three interceptions ... also a team-high 11 pass breakups ... had a knack at being at the right place at the right time to knock down passes ... a junior college transfer who came to UNM at midyear in 2011 and went on to start eight of 12 games ... a physical defender whose cover skills improved as he earned more playing time during the season ... became one of the more reliable players in the secondary by the end of the year ... played two seasons at Erie (N.Y.) Community College ... first name is pronounced DES-tree.

2012 (SENIOR): Played in all 13 games and started in 12 of UNM's games during the season and finished sixth on the team with 47 tackles ... His best performance came against Texas State on Oct. 6 in which he had two interceptions, five tackles and a pass breakup during UNM's 35-14 homecoming victory ... earned a College Football Performance Award Defensive Back Player of the Week Honorable Mention for his performance ... made four solo tackles, including his first career sack, and broke up his 10th pass of the season against Nevada on Nov. 17 ... broke up a career-high three passes against Fresno State on Oct. 27 ... finished with three tackles (two solo, one assist) against the Bulldogs ... intercepted his third pass of the season with 8:07 remaining in the second quarter against Air Force on Oct. 20 ... also notched one solo tackle against the Falcons ... recorded four solo tackles, one of which was his first tackle for a loss this season, and broke up one pass against Hawaii on Oct. 13 ... intercepted the first two passes of his career against Texas State on Oct. 6 ... first interception came on the Bobcats' first play of the second half as he made a diving, over-the-shoulder grab at UNM's 38 ... his second interception came on the final play of the game when he intercepted a pass near UNM's goal line and returned it seven yards before taking a near to end the game ... totaled five tackles (four solo, one assist) and one pass breakup in addition to his interceptions against Texas State ... finished second on the team in tackles against No. 24 Boise State with seven (four solo, three assist) before leaving the game due to injury ... made four solo tackles and recorded a pass breakup at New Mexico State on Sept. 22 ... recorded three solo tackles and assisted on three others against 17th-ranked Texas on Sept. 8 ... was also credited with his first pass breakup of the season against the Longhorns.

2011 (JUNIOR): Played in all 12 games, starting eight overall and the last five games of the season...seventh on the team and tied for 48th in the Mountain West with 47 tackles...his five pass breakups led the team and ranked tied for 19th in the MW...had a season-high 11 tackles, including nine solos, and blocked a kick against Nevada in week seven...finished the season with a seven-tackle, one-pass-breakup performance against No. 8 Boise State...six tackles and two tackles for loss in week 11 at Wyoming...had six tackles and two pass breakups at No. 13 Arkansas in week two...debuted in the season opener against Colorado State, recording five tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass breakup.

ERIE COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Racked up 54 tackles in two seasons at ECC (45 solo/9 assisted)...finished his junior college career with three interceptions and 14 pass breakups in 19 games...earned second-team all-Northeast Conference honors in 2010...also had three blocked kicks in '10...was selected to play in the Junior College All-American Bowl...recognized as the ECC Scholar Athlete of the...played for Erie coach Dennis Greene.
