NEW MEXICO: Imposing defensive tackle who helped the line battle its way through a long season without a bye week ... played nose tackle and rotated with Reggie Ellis in 2012 ... appeared in 22 career games with nine starts during his two years with the Lobos...played 11 games with five starts in 2011, battling with injuries the second half of the season...aggressive defensive tackle who brings experience and size to the Lobo defensive line...played in nine games in 2010 at Fort Scott (Kans.) Community College and finished with 28 tackles...had seven solo stops and a tackle for loss in 2010...had a forced fumble and two recoveries for the Greyhounds...spent his first two college seasons at Texas A&M...redshirted his first season as an Aggie in 2008.
2012 (SENIOR): Played in 11 games with two starts at nose tackle ... missed the first two games of the season because of a non-injury issue ... finished the season with a solid performance, two assistated tackles and a half-tackle for loss against Colorado State...assisted on two tackles, one of which was for a loss, against Nevada on Nov. 17 ... led the defensive line with three solo tackles against Wyoming on Nov. 10 ... recorded one solo tackle against Hawaii on Oct. 13 ... also assisted on a tackle for loss against the Warriors and received an overall grade of 80 percent ... made his first start of the season against Boise State on Sept. 29 and finished with five total tackles ... his only solo tackle against the Broncos was good for a loss of two yards, the first tackle for a loss in his career.
2011 (JUNIOR): Made five starts in the first eight games of the season but playing time dwindled in the final four games because of injuries...finished with 12 tackles on the season...best game statistically was the season opener against Colorado State with three tackles.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played high school football for coach Darryl Phipps at Houston Eisenhower HS...as a senior, garnered second team all-district honors at defensive tackle (District 19-5A)...as a junior was named to the first-team all-district defensive line (District 19-5A)...member of Dave Campbell's Texas Football Super Team (2nd Team DL)...High School All-American...recruited by Miami, Texas and Texas A&M.
