A former pitcher/3B for the Lobos, Danielle Thacker begins her first season as an assistant coach for the University of New Mexico. Thacker will be working primarily with the pitchers.

A 4-year letterwinner at UNM, Thacker has made her mark in the record books. Some of her most prestigious single season honors are, home runs (13), slugging (.714), and RBI's (54). As for her career honors she holds the UNM record for batting average (.342), slugging % (.535), RBI's (143), and at bats (649). Thacker earned multiple pitcher and player of the week honors, two All Conference selections, and also has a perfect game under her belt as a Lobo.

After finishing her playing career at New Mexico, Thacker was recruited to play professionally Forli, Italy. She also played in the Colorado Semi-Pro league for two years, recently shutting out the National Professional Fastpitch All Stars. Thacker has also been a private pitching instructor for 5 years, training such athletes as the Dominican Republic National Team (men's and women's).

Thacker earned her Bachelors degree in University Studies at UNM in 2000. Now she will bring her experience and knowledge back to Lobo softball.

A native of Long Beach, CA, Thacker was a four-time All Conference selection, a four-time all city selection, and a three-time Dream Team selection, and the Female Athlete of the Year at R.A. Millikan High School.
