New Mexico has opportunity to rise up the rankings

SOPHOMORE: Finished the season with the top time for New Mexico in the 50-yard freestyle as well as the 100-yard butterfly...she also had the second fastest times in both the 100-yard free and the 200-yard fly....Hobson lowered her school record time in the 100-yard butterfly twice during the course of the year...her best time in the event came on Feb. 23 when she swam a time of 54.75 to give her a fifth place finish at the MW Championships...was the only Lobo swimmer to be selected to the All-MW team...was a member of the 200-yard relay team that set a school record...finished 10th in the 50-yard free at the MW Championships...was named a 2011-2012 Academic All-MW selection, also a MW Scholar-Athlete.

FRESHMAN: Had the top times for UNM in the 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard butterfly and 100-yard buttefly...broke school record in the 100-yard butterfly...was a 2010-2011 Academic All-Conference recipient.

HIGH SCHOOL: 2010 Graduate of Las Cruces HS in Las Cruces, NM...swam for Coach Luke Egnaczak...state champion is the 100 Butterfly and 400 Free Relay...swam club for the Wild West Aquatics Team which won the State Championship and advanced to Western Sectionals.

PERSONAL: Born April 4, 1992 in Alamogordo, NM...full name is Jorgi Lynn Hobson...daughter of Shaun and Robert...favorite food is Italian...favorite movie is Mean Girls...has two younger siblings... Bobby Joe (13) and Mason (10)...Academics and Swimming letterwinner...intends to major in Political Science at UNM.
