ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.  – The Lobos continue to lead in doubles as they complete day two of the 2013 Wildcat Invitational with a 4-0 record.

Rachana Bhat and Meredith Hopson remain undefeated after two days of competing in the Crimson Doubles Flight. The duo ended their day on Saturday with two more victories on their record after defeating teams from the University of Texas-San Antonio and Northern Arizona. Bhat and Hopson will compete in the finals on Sunday morning.

The University of New Mexico’s Susie Baklini and Emily Olivier also went 2-0 in doubles on Saturday. The duo is competing in consolation matches after a loss in the first round of the Wildcat Doubles Flight on Friday. Baklini and Olivier will continue to battle in consolation play on Sunday.

"We had a great day in doubles on Saturday,” assistant Coach Kelcy McKenna said.

The Lobos struggled on day two in singles play. They went 1-3 on Saturday. Bhat fell to the University of Arizona’s Lauren Marker, 6-1, 6-2, in the semifinals of the Crimson Singles Flight.

Baklini, Olivier, and Hopson battled in consolation play, but only Baklini was able to take home a victory. She defeated Olivia Headford from Northern Arizona, 6-2, 6-2.

"The last day will be a good test of toughness as we are battling through some injuries and long matches," McKenna said.

Tournament play will resume on Sunday morning.
