Lobo Faithful:

University of New Mexico Lobo Soccer is finding form at the right time! The boys put together 90 minutes of skillful and entertaining soccer this past Saturday afternoon versus Florida Atlantic University. They had excellent focus, preparation, consistency and maturity over the entire match. We are five games into our nine-game conference schedule, with four big ones on the horizon. We are healthy, unified, excited and playing some of our best soccer of the season…..a good place to be! Off to Columbia, South Carolina early Friday morning for a 7:00 pm kickoff this Saturday night against the South Carolina Gamecocks. USC is a dangerous team with a rich soccer tradition. This will be our first trip to the "Graveyard". We have a big one at home next Wednesday versus the University of Alabama at Birmingham at 7:00 pm. UAB currently has a record of 10-2-1 and are ranked tenth in the country.

LOBOS VS. FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19TH, 1:00 PM LOBO SOCCER STADIUM

Excellent 90 minutes of soccer from the boys. We had a great week of training, and it was good to have a week gap between matches. Our big minute players got some extra rest over the course of the week and everyone took advantage of the time at home to catch up on school, review video and prepare for challenges ahead. FAU came into the match with a record of 6-2-2 and with a lot of confidence.

We were good from the get go. We possessed the ball, played quickly and created chances. While not rewarded with a goal in the first half, we dominated play and created opportunities. The second half proved to be more fruitful. In the 56th minute, quality combination play on the right flank culminating with an end line cross from James Rogers to Chris Wehan for an excellent first-time finish; 1-0 Lobos. 18 minutes later, a great far-post-driven ball from Mattie Gibbons to Riley McGovern for a class finish… 2-0 Lobos. All in all, an excellent performance: 16-5 advantage in shots and our goalkeeper Michael Lisch challenged to make only one save over the course of the game. Here is the game recap and video link with goals.

We just filmed todays episode of "Fish Off The Pitch" with special guest Chris Wehan. Check out Wehan's impressive beard! He can now get into "R" rated movies without an ID. The show will air tonight:

People have asked where I get my threads…..if you have some style and fashion sense, check out Izzy Martin Menswear on Central Ave in Nob Hill. Incredible place with a tremendous selection!

Thanks for all your support and get ready for a big one at home next week.
