UNM Soccer Complex
New Mexico Men’s Soccer wants to see you on Wednesday night! The mid-week match will put a pair of the Conference USA leaders on the field as the Lobos host the UAB Blazers at 7 p.m. The pair of C-USA’s premier programs is just one component of the atmosphere being built for Wednesday night. It’s also “Stuff the Stadium” night at the UNM Soccer Complex with $3 tickets! The festivities will also include a tailgate outside the stadium starting at 5:30 p.m. with a live DJ on hand for fans. It’s a great opportunity to catch some big-time soccer action while helping participate in a big-time atmosphere.
Time to “Stuff the Stadium”
New Mexico is looking to pack the UNM Soccer Complex on Wednesday evening with admission being just $3 for regular tickets. The lowered ticket prices are just part of the value of the match as there are also free thundersticks for the first 1,000 fans to enter the match. The thundersticks will complement the intensity of the UNM Soccer Complex atmosphere that also includes vuvuzelas, drums and cowbells.
There will also be plenty of entertainment before the match with a live DJ in the pre-game tailgate starting 90 minutes before the match.
A Tight Conference USA Race
New Mexico is one of four Conference USA teams with just one loss in conference with South Carolina, UAB and Old Dominion being the other three. The Lobos will face two of those three teams this week with UAB coming to Albuquerque on Wednesday and UNM traveling to Old Dominion on Saturday. Not only is C-USA a competitive conference, but it has emerged as one of the top conferences in college soccer. Only the ACC has more teams ranked in the top 25 in RPI than Conference USA.
UAB-New Mexico History
The two teams have only faced each other once before, but it was just last season. The Blazers were UNM’s 2012 home opener as the Lobos won 2-0.
