College Football Performance Awards – Week 14
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – University of New Mexico senior punter Ben Skaer on Monday earned a College Football Performance Awards honorable mention for his game against Boise State on Saturday night.
The senior from Waterloo, Ill., finished the night with seven punts for an average of 46.7 yards. Four landed inside the Broncos 20-yard line and three landed at or inside the Boise State 5.
He had three punts of 50 or more yards in the game to give him 19 on the season.
Skaer set a UNM single-season record for punting average in 2013 with an average of 45.8 yards per attempt to rank eighth in the nation. He finished the regular season as the Mountain West leader in punting average.
The CFPA honor was his third of the season and sixth in the past two years.
