Lobo Faithful:

Hope this email finds everyone off to a wonderful 2014. I'm officially back in the swing of things….the reward for hard work, is more hard work! I can't imagine doing anything as satisfying and fulfilling! The Major League Soccer (MLS) Draft wrapped up Tuesday and four Lobos get the chance to pursue their dreams. All four of our seniors from the 2013 New Mexico Lobo Men's Soccer Team have been selected by MLS Clubs: Kyle Venter to the LA Galaxy, Michael Kafari to the Vancouver Whitecaps, Michael Lisch to the Houston Dynamo and Michael Calderon to the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The boys will report to training camp this weekend and are ready to compete for a roster spot. I can't tell you how proud and excited I am. Michael, Michael, Michael and Kyle are excellent students and have been tremendous representatives of the University of New Mexico, the city of Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico. They have dreamed of playing professional soccer since they were little boys and now get the chance to "make their dream a reality". Lisch and Venter have graduated and Calderon and Kafari will graduate this May upon completion of an online course. The team grade point average for the fall was 3.40.
