Winter Park, Colo. --- When you get a chance at an RMISA Qualifier like the one held earlier today in Winter Park, Colo., you want to take advantage. Meteja Robnik, Sean Horner and Michael Bansmer certainly did just that. Robnik won the women’s giant slalom RMISA qualifier, and Horner and Bansmer finished second and third setting themselves up for this weekend’s Jade Enterprises/UNM Invitational.
Robnik didn’t have the fastest time in either run, but she handily defeated Brooke Wales of Colorado by 0.63 seconds. Robnik did have a run of 1:01.40 in the first go, which was second amongst all competitors. It was Robnik’s first career win.
On the men’s side, Horner, who had back-to-back fourth place finished in Colorado, topped that with his career-best second place finish. Bansmer also had a season-best finish of third. Armin Treidle also continued his solid pace with a seventh place finish.
Rounding out the finishers on the women’s side was Courtney Altringer, who finished 10th, Sydney Staples in 14th, and Taylor Grauer in 19th. On the men’s side, Joonas Rasanen finished tied for 14th, Mark Miller finished 16th, Juho-Pekka Penttinen finished 19th and Scott Snow 25th.
