ALBUQUERUQUE, N.M. -- The University of New Mexico men’s tennis team will travel to Atlanta, Georgia this weekend to take on No. 71 Georgia State and No. 39 Drake at the Blackburn Tennis Center.

The No. 67 Lobos start off the weekend with a match against GSU on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET. The Panthers are currently 7-9 on the season. Their roster includes only two seniors and a handful of freshmen. UNM and GSU have not competed against a lot of the same opponents this season, but they have both fallen to Santa Clara. It should be a pretty even match up.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

UNM will stay at GSU on Sunday to face off against Drake at 11 a.m ET. The No. 39 Bulldogs will be no easy match up for the Lobos. Their roster includes six upperclassmen and eight international players. Drake is also bringing the No. 29 ITA ranked men’s doubles team, Robin Goodman and Ravi Patel. Doubles play is often one of UNM’s strong points, so they will need to play with high intensity from start to finish if they want to pull of the upset.

The Lobos currently hold an all-time record of 1-1 against the Bulldogs. The two opponents have not competed against each other since the 1999-2000 season.
