University of New Mexico Lobo Soccer is HARD AT WORK! Two matches into our spring schedule, and the boys have really begun to develop into a very cohesive group; new identity, new leadership and ambitious goals. We're almost three months into winter/spring training, and I couldn't be prouder of the team. There are exciting times ahead!
We opened our five-match spring schedule vs the MLS Colorado Rapids on March 30th in Denver. "Straight into the fire" match day number one. The 0-2 defeat wasn't indicative of our play, as we had plenty of scoring chances and the two goals we conceded were "big time" finishes from top level pros. Six of the players who suited up against us, started the Rapids following MLS match vs Vancouver (both goal scorers). We were punished for early season miscues and the match helps us set the bar high for the remainder of our spring.
We traveled to Taos, New Mexico on Saturday, April 5th to face familiar foe; Denver University. The Pioneers are coming off an NCAA appearance and defeated a quality Creighton team the previous weekend. We were a much more cohesive and focused team with a game under our belts. Our preparation and confidence showed in a 3-0 win over a very good Denver side with goals coming from James Rogers, Rene Reyes and Josh Goss. The shutout shared by Patrick Poblete and Jimmy Schneebeck. Three more matches remain: April 12th at home vs Air Force, April 19th in Taos vs Fort Lewis and May 3rd in Tucson vs FC Tucson.
HOME MATCH THIS WEEKEND: LOBOS VS. AIR FORCE SATURDAY, APRIL 12TH, 10:30 AM ROBERTSON FIELD SOUTH OF LOBO SOCCER STADIUM

If you are visiting any of these cities this summer, make sure to catch up with our boys.
Thanks for all your support and hope to see you this weekend!
