ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico volleyball program has raised $4,000 at its eighth annual Grass Bash that was held on April 12 and 13.

All of the proceeds from the Grass Bash have been donated to the UNM’s Children’s Hospital. Chantale Riddle, Hannah Johnson, Director of Operations Allison Buck and assistant coach JJ Glavan presented Daniel Jaecks, Associate Director of Development for UNM Hospitals, with a $4,000 check to go towards the efforts of UNMCH

“The students understand that there is a need over at the children’s hospital,” said Jaecks. “Women’s volleyball comes together and notices that need and does its best to raise money for the kids.”

There were over 150 teams at this year’s event that participated in various divisions of volleyball. Participants included members from all ages around the community and also past and present Lobo volleyball players.

Head coach Jeff Nelson was very proud of the way the event went. “This year’s Grass Bash was a huge success with more competitors than ever. Our entire team and staff love doing a quality event that benefits children. I hope our relationship continues for many years.”
