Lobo Skiing 2012-13 Season Review

The 2012-13 campaign was one of ups and downs for Landstedt and the Lobos, capped by a sixth-place finish at the NCAAs


Alpiners Lift Lobos to Fourth at RMISA Championships/Regionals

Senior Chris Acosta finished second on the men's side and sophomore Mateja Robnik claimed third on the women's side to move UNM up one place in the final day of competition

Rasanen and Lobo Men Win to Move UNM to Fourth at Home Invite

Joonas Rasanen earned his third slalom victory of the season and Lobo men place four in the top 10


UNM Ski at Red River Ski Area

The Lobos welcomed schools to their home turf in Red River, N.M. The meet was the only home event of the season for UNM

Sophomore (2013): Placed seventh in the slalom at the CU Invite on Jan. 8 for a new career-best finish...recorded seven top-20 finishes...was eighth in the first slalom at the UNM Invite on Feb. 9...turned in a solid performance at the DU Invite, placing 14th (SL) and 17th (GS)...2012-13 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.

Freshman (2012): Earned All-Academic Ski Team honors from the United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association and Lobo Scholar-Athlete honors...had four top-20 finishes for the Lobos...finished 14th in the giant slalom at the RMISA Alpine Qualifier #1 on Jan. 6...finished 20th in the giant slalom at the CU Invitational/Spencer Nelson Memorial...took 12th place in the slalom at the Seawolf Invitational on Feb. 11...finished 19th at the NCAA Qualifer on Feb. 22 in the slalom.

Prior to UNM: Graduated from Boulder High School in 2009...earned four academic letters in high school...started racing for the Winter Park Ski Team when he was 10 years old...trained with the Eldora Ski Team all through high school and spent his weekends skiing at Winter Park...attended the University of Colorado fall 2011...was coached by Ian Dunlop the last two years and was top-ten overall in the Surefoot Ski Cup standings.

Personal: Born in Boulder, Colo...son of Glenn and Maggi Horner...has one younger sister, Megan...hobbies include mountain biking, climbing mountains, slacklining and golfing...favorite athlete is Lance Armstrong...favorite food is hot wings...favorite movie is The Pursuit of Happiness...majoring in exercise science and aspires to become a physical therapist.
