The University of New Mexico women's golf team is in 13th place after two rounds of The Farms Invitational in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
The Lobos started the day in a tie for 11th, but shot a 31-over 319 today at the demanding Farms Golf Club (par 72, 6,202 yards). UNM has a 36-hole total of 60-over 636 (317-319).
No. 1 ranked Southern California continues to lead the 15-team field at 11-over 587. UNLV is 13 shots back at 600.
UNM junior Sammi Stevens birdied her final two holes today (No. 8 and 9) for a 74. She is tied for 23rd at 8-over 152 (78-74). Stevens was 1 over on her round after a birdie on the 14th hole (No. 4). She suffered a double bogey on 5 and a bogey on 6 to drop to 4 over before the birdie-birdie finish.
Junior Manon De Roey is at 158 (78-80), tied for 43rd.
Southern Cal's Sophia Popov is the only golfer in the 84-player field in red numbers at 1-under 143 (74-69).
Final round action begins Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Mountain Time.
