SOPHOMORE EVA SAULNIER This talented Lobo had to quickly adjust to collegiate life in the classroom and also D-I golf on the course as she joined the New Mexico roster in January of 2014.

She managed to play 15 rounds for Coach Jill Trujillo and cracked the traveling roster for the Silverado Showdown in Napa where Eva carded her second-best 18 holes as a Lobo with a four-over 76.  She carded her best 18 holes at the Mountain West Championships where her first-round 74 was a huge boost for the UNM team total in their championship run.

Saulnier came to New Mexico from Tours, France and became eligible for the Lobos last year for the spring season.

In the fall season of 2014 (including February's match with UTEP), Saulnier had nine rounds in the 70s and twice carded a 74. She cut more than three strokes from her first-day card to her final-day card.  However, Saulnier was in the 70s after 18 holes in the four tournaments of the 2014 fall season.

“Eva got a good taste of golf at the collegiate level last year and we expect her to be a solid player for us this season," said Trujillo. “Eva had a lot of experience at the junior level over in Europe and now she has to continute to make the adjustment to collegiate golf. It will help her this year getting to play the entire season for us."

Saulnier played on the French Junior National Team which introduced her to international competition in Europe. She finished fifth in the British Girls Junior in 2013.

I came here because everything seemed perfect with golf and school and then because of Jill (Trujillo)," said Saulnier.  "I'm very pleased to be here and very excited to begin my second season. It’s nice to be part of a team like this.”

Eva was born on July 25, 1995 in Chambray-Les-Tours. Her hobbies are music (piano)and reading science fiction.    Her favorite food is pasta. Her favorite movies are “Star Wars” and her favorite actor is Johnny Depp.
