ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – University of New Mexico center LaMar Bratton has been named to the 2014 Rimington Award Fall Watch List, one of 66 players nationally to receive the honor.  The announcement was made by the Rimington Trophy Committee.

Bratton a 6-foot, 281-pound senior from Riverside, Calif., takes over the position for the graduated Dillon Farrell, who is in training camp with the San Francisco 49ers.  He is a two-time All-Mountain West honorable mention performer and led the team in knockdown blocks in 2013 with 148 in 855 snaps.

He has started all 37 games of his Lobo career, the last two seasons at left guard. Bratton started 12 games at center his freshman season in 2011, and he made a spot start at center in 2013 against Pittsburgh.  Going up against first-round draft pick Aaron Donald, Bratton led the team with 13 knockdown blocks.

Bratton is one of six Mountain West centers on the list, joining Nevada's Matt Galas, Air Force's Michael Husar, San Jose State's David Peterson, San Diego State's Jordan Smith and UNLV's Robert Waterman.

The Lobos’ 2013 season begins Aug. 30 against UTEP on Branch Field at University Stadium. For season- and single-game ticket information, go to the link at golobos.com or call 595-925-LOBO.
