Joe Franklin's cross country and track & field teams showed some talent as they racked up the honors and the championships in the 2012-13 season.
For the fourth straight year, UNM has finished in the USTFCCCA Program of the Year standings, which recognize the best DI cross country and track & field program
Josephine Moultrie and Luke Caldwell both took All-American honors as women place 10th and men 21st
Joe Franklin's Lobos are traveling to Louisville, Ky., to take on the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
The Lobos swept the team titles at the MW Championships. The women won their 4th-straight and the men their 5th-straight.
Caldwell's Track and Field Bio
2012: Competed at five meets, serving as the team's ace with team-leading finishes at four of the meets at which he competed ... Opened with a 12th-place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational, completing the 5-mile course in 23:59 ... Claimed 54th at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational, running the 8K in 24:02 ... Won the individual title at the Mountain West Championships with a 24:26.70 time, according him the honor of Mountain West Men's Athlete of the Year ... Took home another 12th-place finish at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships with a 10K time of 30:21.9 ... Earned All-American status at the NCAA Championships with his 27th-place time of 29:52.9, as he paced the men to a 21st-place team finish.
Competed at the University of Oxford (England) ... Finished 19th at the English National Cross Country Championships in 2012 ... Has career bests of 3:47 in the 1500m and 14:37.89 in the 5K.
