Gabe Aragon was named Second-Team Academic All-America, while Thomas Trujillo earned Third-Team Academic All-America
Joe Franklin's cross country and track & field teams showed some talent as they racked up the honors and the championships in the 2012-13 season.
All three are eligible for Academic All-America honors as they become UNM's 13th, 14th and 15th All-District recipients of 2012-13.
The Lobo women racked up 145.5 team points over the four-day meet, while the men combined for 149
The Lobo women are in second place while the men sit in third after the third day of action at the MW Track Championships.
The Lobos start to 2012 year by travelling to the NAU Open and hosting the Cherry & Silver and the New Mexico Invite.
2013 Indoor: Redshirted the indoor season ... Did compete unattached at four meets in both short sprints ... Opened at the Cherry & Silver Invitational, placing 22nd in the 60-meter dash with time of 7.18* ... Ran a season-best time in the 60 of 7.17*at the New Mexico Classic, placing 24th ... Registered a season-best time in the 200 of 22.50* at the New Mexico Invitational with a time of 22.50*.
2013 Outdoor: Saw action at six meets, primarily in the 100-meter dash, but with some 200-meter action, as well ... Opened with four straight 100s, clocking times of 10.92* at the UTEP Springtime Invitational (placing ninth), 11.00* at the Don Kirby Tailwind Invitational (14th), 10.94* at the Air Force Triangular (fifth) and 10.65 at the Beach Invitational ... Recorded one regular-season time in the 200 at the Beach Invite, clocking in at 22.61 to place 55th ... Ran a final 100 before the conference meet, placing 12th at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational with a time of 10.99 ... Scored in both sprints at the Mountain West Championships, placning fourth in the 100 (10.98) and fifth in the 200 (21.92).
2012 Indoor: Competed at six meets ... Placed 11th in the 200 with a 22.46* time at the NAU Lumberjack Open to open the season ... Ran a 22.23* time in the 200 at the Cherry & Silver Invitational, placing 16th ... Claimed 11th in the 60 at the New Mexico Invitational with a 7.09* time ... Ran a 15th-place time of 7.08* at the New Mexico Classic.
2012 Outdoor: Did not compete during the outdoor season.
2011 Indoor:Competed in five meets, all in New Mexico ... Solid season placing 6th in the 200m at the 2011 MWC Indoor Championships.
2011 Outdoor:Ran in seven meets that ranged from New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, and California ... Ran season best at the New Mexico Tailwind Invitational in the 100m in 10.77 ... Finished 6th in the MWC Championships with a time of 21.71 in the 200m ... Also placed 7th in the 100m in a very competitive field at the MWC Championships ... Member of the 4x100 relay team that placed second starting off the race in the same meet ...
2010 Indoor:Competed in six meets ranging fromt he 60m and 200m to the 4x400 meter relay ... Season bests of 6.99 in the 60m, 22.03 in the 200m, and 3:17.09 in the 4x400m relay.
2010 Outdoor: Competed in six meets throughout the season ... Season bests of 21.52 in the 200m at the MW Championships placing 7th in a very competitive field ... placed 2nd in the 4x100m leading off the race at the MW Championships ... running a time that would qualify the relay team to the NCAA West Preliminary Round..relay team ran a season's best of 40.35.
2009 Outdoor: Lobos' No. 2 sprinter in the 100m and 200m ... Finished 8th at the MWC Championships in both events ...
