COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Today stands as the final day of competition for those participating in the 2014 NCAA Zone E Diving Regionals meet. This also marks the last time out in the water for senior diver Megan Harper.
The native from Phoenix, Ariz., did not compete in the platform event today, also the final event for regionals, but did rack up points in her earlier performances in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard placing 15th- and 12th- place for a 279.85 to 586.80 overall score, respectively.
This will be the first year in the past two seasons that the Lobos did not qualify for the NCAA Championships. However, Megan Harper carries on the tradition of winning an event at the MW Championships as she took gold in the 3-meter springboard competition.
After three days of competition at the Cadet Natatorium, the eight qualifiers from the women's divison who will advance to nationals are as follows: Kahley Rowell (CAL), Haley Ishimatsu (USC), Hailey Casper (ASU), Alexandra Clay (STAN), En-tien Huang (NEV), Lauren Hall (HAWA), Hannah Prigge (FRES), and Kersten Merry (UTAH).
The University of New Mexico's Swimming and Diving team had a very succesful year with performances that were one's for the books. The Lobos will start back up with fresh faces and competition for the 2014-2015 season.
