ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico Swimming and Diving Head Coach Kunio Kono and his staff announced seven athletes who will begin their journey with the Lobo family this upcoming season.

Aundrea Scott, Amelie Braul, and Emily McGill are the most recent signees who will be joining New Mexico for the 2014-2015 season.

Aundrea Scott

Aundrea Scott hails from Grapevine, Texas and is a graduate from Grapevine High School. She comes to UNM after being awarded (Grapevine) Girl Diver of the Year for the 7-5A Division. In 2011, she qualified in the USA Age Group Nationals on the 1-meter, 3-meter, and platform springboard events. She dove two consecutive years (2012 and 2013) in the USA Regionals and USA Zone Qualifier. In 2013 at the USA Regionals she placed 5th on platform.  Her experience is extended as Scott has also competed in the USA Regionals, Texas Regionals 5A.

Aundrea Scott was a part of the GC Diving club team under Coach Krista Klein.

Head diving coach Julie Weddle says, “We are really excited for Aundrea to join the Lobo family. Her spirit, dedication, and level of experience with diving will be a strong tribute to next year’s team. She is an outstanding platform diver and will be a strong contender in the MW conference.”

Amelie Braul

Amelie Braul is one of six other international athletes on the Lobo roster. Braul is from Hanover, Germany and finished at the Ricarda-Huch-Schule secondary school. She competed in the German National Long Course Championships from 2010 until 2014.

In 2010, she placed second in the 50-meter freestyle. In 2011, she took third-place in the 50-meter freestyle. In 2012, she reclaimed second-place in the 50-meter freestyle.
