GREELEY, Colo. - The Lobo swimmers were able to shake off yesterday's big loss at the hands of the Wyoming Cowgirls and prevail against the Bears of Northern Colorado. UNM took the early morning meet with a final score of 166-129.

The Lobos were dominant against Northern Colorado taking first place in 10 of the 16 events during the meet.

Shayla King, Ashley Blanchette, Marissa Campbell and Jorgi Hobson started things off when they took the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:47.49. Julia Carroll, Samantha Moss, Lindsey Morris and April Chee were second in the event with a final time of 1:50.01.

The 1,000 yard freestyle was taken by Monica Dudley, her second straight finish in the event with a time of 10:47.25. Sarah Weihe was followed by Taylor McGregor in the event with times of 11:00.89 and 11:08.63 to finish fourth and fifth, respectively.

Anna Lilliestrom continued the trend of first place finishes after she touched the wall first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.39. Heidi Zeiger followed her in second place clocking a time of 1:58.41.

Once again, Campbell and Hobson had strong performances to accompany their win in the medley relay. Campbell took the 100 yard back after she swam the distance in 58.76; she also won the 100 yard free in 53.98. Hobson prevailed in the 50 yard free and the 100 yard fly with times of 24.53 and 57.05, respectively.

Junior Stelicia Flores also took first after she won the 200 yard fly with a time of 2:13.27.

The Lobos take to the road once again next weekend as they travel to Las Cruces, N.M. for their final meet of the season against the Aggies of NMSU.

While the swimmers took down the bears, Michole Timm, Megan Harper and Abel Sanchez were diving well during the final day of the Air Force Diving Invitational.

The women's 3 meter springboard was held today, and Timm and Harper both earned trips to the final round were Harper took second and Timm finished third.

The road to the finals round began during the preliminary round where Harper scored 295.95 for third place. Timm was fourth with a point total of 283.10.

Harper, Timm and another six divers then took to the boards for the final round. Kersten Merry of Utah was first with a score of 300.90. Harper was a very close second with her final score of 300.00; Timm's score of 296.55 was enough for third.

The divers will join the swimmers for their meet during NMSU next Saturday, Feb. 2nd at noon.
