Meet Schedule

The 2007 New Mexico High School Open indoor track & field meet will be held Friday, Feb. 16 and Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The meet begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and resumes at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Admission is free both days.

Over 250 athletes, representing 22 high schools from around the West are scheduled to compete. There are 15 New Mexico high schools and seven out-of-state schools among the field. The breakdown is as follows:

New Mexico: Albuquerque HS, Belen HS, Carlsbad HS, Gallup Catholic HS, Hope Christian HS, Hot Springs HS, La Cueva HS, Manzano HS, Mayfield HS, Pecos HS, Piedra Vista HS, Raton HS, Rio Grande HS, Shiprock HS, St. Pius X HS.

Arizona: St. Augustine HS (Tucson)

California: John Muir HS (Pasadena), Palos Verdes HS (Palos Verdes Estates), Skyline HS (Oakland)

Colorado: Eaglecrest HS (Centennial)

Oregon: Cascade HS (Turner)

Wyoming: Cheyenne Central HS (Cheyenne)

In addition, several elite post-collegiate athletes will be competing on Friday night in invitational event sections. Some of the top names include:

Women's Pole Vault
• Lacy Janson (NCAA Champion at Florida State) • Tracy O'Hara (NCAA Champion at UCLA)

Men's Long Jump
• Walter Davis (2006 World Indoor triple jump champion, 2005 World Outdoor triple jump champion) • Tony Allmond (2004 U.S. Olympic Trials runner-up in the long jump)

Women's 60m
• Angela Daigle (member of the 2005 World Outdoor champion 4x100m relay team, 2005 U.S. Indoor 60m champion) • Tahesia Harrigan (2006 Central America & Caribbean Games 100m champion)

Women's 400m
• Kia Davis (member of the 2006 World Indoor champion 4x400m relay team)

Women's 60m Hurdles
• Nichole Denby (NCAA All-American at Texas) • Dawn Harper (NCAA All-American at UCLA)

Men's 60m Hurdles
• David Payne (has the second-fastest 60m hurdles time by an American this year - 7.58) • Josh Walker (Two-time NCAA champion at Florida)

Results will be available at the meet. Event-by-event results will be posted throughout the meet and a complete results packet will be available upon request following the last event each day. Final results will be posted online on www.GoLobos.com on MONDAY MORNING, Feb. 19.
