Stanford, Calif.- Ruth Senior has done it again. The junior crushed another school record this time in the 3,000m steeplechase. Senior ran a time of 10:09.14 to claim the New Mexico school record Saturday at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational at Stanford. The Norwich, England product beat the old record (10:38.20) set in 2008 by Kara Henry by 29 seconds.

"I was trying not to think about the time I just tried to go out and run," Senior said. "I was actually a little disappointed I thought I would run faster. But I really can't complain. My old PR was four years old so it feels good to better that. It feels good to get the first one out of the way, the steeple is a hard race to run."

Seniors previous PR in the event was 10:12.50, which was set at the World Junior Championships. The junior's time is currently the sixth best in the nation.

Senior Jacob Kirwa set a new PR in the 5,000m with a time of 13:48.85 shaving several seconds off his old PR of 13:53.89.

In his first outdoor meet of the season Rory Fraser ran a time of 14:04.07 in the 5K.
