Kelly Dunbar (formlerly Kelly Dix) is in her sxith year as a volunteer distance and cross country coach for the University of New Mexico. Dunbar was a standout for the Lobos from 1991-94, earning all-Western Athletic Conference honors five times indoors and outdoors, and capturing the 5,000 at the 1994 WAC Outdoor Championships. She finished third at the 1992 WAC Cross Country meet to earn all-conference honors and was an all-region runner in 1991 and `92. Dunbar represented UNM at the 1992 NCAA Cross Country Championships and 1994 Outdoor Track Championships, where she finished 14th in the 10,000. She has held the UNM indoor 5,000 record (17:06.57) since 1993.

Before joining the Henry's at her alma mater, Dunbar served as an assistant coach for the boy's cross country and girl's track teams at the Albuquerque Academy from 1995-00. A track and cross country standout at Albuquerque La Cueva High School, Dunbar graduated from New Mexico with a degree in Nursing in 1995. She and her husband, Will Dunbar, have a 3-year-old daughter Casey.
