ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The Golf Channel is scheduled to air a feature on the University of New Mexico men's golf team Tuesday (May 14) at 4 p.m. Mountain Time (6 p.m. Eastern), rather than Monday (May 13).
UNM was notified of the change on Monday morning.
The story will be a look at the history of the program. Golf Channel representatives were in town three weeks ago to interview former coach Dick McGuire, who helped bring the construction of the UNM Championship Course to fruition in 1967. The Golf Channel also interviewed former coaches Dwaine Knight, John Fields and J.T. Higgins, as well as current coach Glen Millican.
Knight, Fields and Millican all are former Lobo players who returned to coach the program.
The Golf Channel is on channel 218 on DirecTV, 251 in HD on Comcast (36 non-HD) and 401 on Dish Network.
The current team is preparing for the NCAA Regional in Columbus, Ohio from May 16-18. Fifth-ranked UNM is the top seed in the 13-team regional, of which the top five will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Alpharetta, Ga., from May 28-June 2.
