HIGH SCHOOL: A member of the Mansfield High School boys golf team in Mansfield, Texas and was the No. 71 player in golfweek.com's Class of 2013 and No. 7 in Texas...a two-time Texas All-State player and a three-time state qualifier...a first-team All-Region player as a senior...was a member of the Mansfield team that won the Texas 5A state championship in 2011, finishing eighth, individually...won the Bart Granger High School Invitational, the largest high school tournament in the nation) in Fort Worth, Texas in September of 2012. He tied for the lowest-ever score with a 10-under 206 (66-67-69) in the event, which features past champions Charlie Beljan (a former Lobo now who recently won his first PGA event), John Peterson (a PGA Tour member out of LSU), Martin Flores (a tour member who attended Oklahoma) and Jordan Spieth (a two-time Junior Amateur champion who just joined the PGA after a stellar career at the University of Texas)...tied for third at the Byron Nelson Junior in Fort Worth, Texas in June, 2012...the 2009 Texas Junior Golf Tour champion and the 2010 Texas Junior Golf Tour Traditions medalist champion...a second-team all-state selection his sophomore year and an all-district selection all four years...had a 3.81 grade-point average in high school.
