ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – As far as summers go, Gavin Green is having a pretty good one.

Fresh off a win at the PGM Vascory Templer Park Championship, and Asian Developmental Tour professional event, Green has been named a PING All-America second-team selection, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Thursday.

The Lobo senior also has achieved a weekly World Amateur Golf Ranking of No. 5, following his victory at the Vascory Templer Park Championship.

Green, a third-team All-America in 2013, is the reigning Mountain West Player of the Year and individual medalist at the Mountain West Championship in May. He led the Lobos to the MW Championship and an NCAA regional appearance.

"It's another great accomplishment for his junior season," UNM coach Glen Millican said. "Back-to-back all-America selections is something to be very proud of and is well-deserved for the golf he has played the past two seasons."

In 2013-14, Green tied a UNM record by held by current PGA tour member Tim Herron (1992-93) for most individual tournament victories in a single season with four. In addition to the MW Championship, Green won the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate, the Western Refining All-America Classic and the Lone Star Invitational.

Green also is tied with Herron for career victories by a Lobo with five. His 71.24 stroke average during 2013-14 was the sixth best in school history, and his No. 3 at UNM in career stroke average at 72.27.

His All-America honor is UNM’s fourth in the last three years. He was a third-team All-America selection last season, and teammate James Erkenbeck earned first-team All-America honors.

In 2012, John Catlin was an honorable mention All-America.
