ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The University of New Mexico’s men’s tennis team looks to rebound from its loss against Oregon when they host Northern Arizona on Saturday and Air Force on Sunday at the Linda Estes Tennis Complex.

The 8-3 Lobos open the weekend with an 11 a.m. (MTN) match against the NAU Lumberjacks on Valentine’s Day. NAU has never been looked at as one of UNM’s toughest challenges on the court, but the Lumberjacks are currently 0-25 against the Lobos and are hungry for a win.

The Lumberjacks have no ranked players, but do have five experienced juniors in their lineup.

UNM hits the court again on Sun. at 2 p.m. (MTN) when they take on their second conference opponent of the season. Head Coach Lt. Col. Dan Oosterhous is bringing a twelve-man team with five seniors to the Lobo turf.

The Falcons are 3-36 against UNM and are also eager to pick up a win over the Lobos. The two opponents last battled it out on April 21, 2013 when the Lobos defeated the Falcons, 6-1, in the last regular season match of the year.

The Lobos are looking to pick up their 26th consecutive win against NAU and claim their first conference win of the season in their AFA battle.

Results will be posted on golobos.com at the end of the match and on the UNM’s men’s tennis team’s social media sites throughout the match.
