2013-14 (Freshman Season)

After posting a 3-3 singles record in the fall tournament season and 2-0 singles record in the regular season, Porter finished her first season at UNM with an overall singles record of 5-3. She competed in the No. 6 singles position in her two regular season appearances. 

Porter posted an overall doubles record of 5-1 in the fall season competing with teammate Rachana Bhat. Porter did not compete in any doubles matches in the Lobos’ 2014 regular season.

Porter was named a 2014 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete for her academic success during her first year at UNM. Porter was also named a 2014 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete.

Prior to UNM

Porter is a 2013 graduate of Legend HS in Parker, Colo. Parker lettered in tennis, basketball, and golf during her time at Legend. She was coached by Ron Steege and Barry Riddle at Legend. Porter placed 5th overall at the 2013 5A state championship. She received the honors of Continental League First Team All-Conference, Pioneer League First Team All-Conference, and team MVP for her success in tennis. Porter was also the tennis team captain at Legend.

She held the position of student body president, participated in the National Honor Society, as well as the Line Crew. Porter received the Rotary Club award and was also named Female Athlete of the Year.


She is the daughter of Suzette Riddle and step-daughter to Barry Riddle. Her mother, Suzette, played tennis at the University of Virginia and her father, Steffan Porter, played at Hamline University. Her step-father, Barry, also played collegiate level tennis. He played for Northern Colorado University.

Porter stays busy with tennis and studying as she is pre-med at UNM. When she does have some time off, she enjoys playing basketball.
