The Lobos are now 7-12 overall. They fell to Air Force in a close battle 4-3 and turned around the next day to defeat Colorado State 4-3. The Lobos finished the weekend 1-2 after a 7-0 loss to Wyoming. Leading the Lobos in singles is Michaela Bezickova with a 14-5 record at number one. Following right behind her is Sarah Mahboob Khan with a record of 6-9. Leading the team in doubles with a 8-11 record is the partnership of Michaela Bezdickova and Laura Richardson.
Nevada*, #55 Fresno State*:
Nevada is coming off a 4-3 loss to #48 San Diego State. The Wolfpck is 9-6 overall and are 3-3 in conference play. Leading the Pack in singles is Emma Verberne with a dual match record of 13-2 at number two singles. Leading the team in doubles is the duo of Emma Verbern and Michele Okhremchuk with a dual match record of 13-2 at number one singles. For Fresno State, freshman Sophie Watts has hit quite the sweet spot lately as she rides an ten match singles winning streak into action this weekend. Fresno State is led by three seniors: Melissa McQueen, Bianca Modoc and Olga Kirpicheva. The three have combined for 201 career singles victories, 45 team dual match wins, two WAC runner-ups and one WAC Championship (As of 4/17/13). The seniors have led a team comprised of mostly underclassmen this season to 12 dual match wins so far and a 4-2 record in Mountain West conference play.
The Lobos will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. to take part in the Mountain West Championships on April 25-28, 2013, where they will face teams such as San Diego State, Boise State, and UNLV to name a few.
